This company is a 30-person database management company located opposite London Bridge station. The CEO aims to expand data analytics as a service, leveraging their rich and valuable database for various customer analytics solutions. The long-term vision is for the analytics team to become the largest department, potentially with specialised verticals such as a head of analytics for healthcare.
The Role
The role is approximately divided as follows: 30% working independently on projects, 45% supporting the team and management, and 25% engaging with clients and providing leadership. We need someone who can understand the client’s existing data structure to determine which data can be leveraged for operational and marketing efficiencies. This involves not only improving marketing strategies but also identifying operational areas for cost savings and optimising current processes. The ideal candidate should understand how data interconnects within a database, be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, and possess strong analytical and data visualisation skills. A recent candidate was hired as a senior data analyst and quickly promoted to head of analytics, demonstrating rapid progression based on individual performance. There are ample opportunities for growth, allowing you to explore new avenues and not just be a cog in the machine.
The Ideal Candidate
Must have SQL proficiency along with experience in data visualisation and dashboard creation. We are flexible regarding the specific tools used. Experience with any CRM system is beneficial, as is marketing analytics expertise. However, candidates with a background in delivering business insights or operational insights to clients are also welcome. Industry experience is not crucial, but familiarity with the healthcare, property, or retail sectors is advantageous for applying insights effectively. From the CEO’s perspective, we are looking for someone with a background in business analytics and/or consulting, who is experienced in stakeholder collaboration and confident in communication. Preference for candidates from smaller companies rather than large corporation’s, who can adapt quickly to their less structured environment. Must have experience managing small teams of 4-5 people, though candidates with experience managing teams of 2-3 people will also be considered. Some project management experience would be a plus.
