We are offering a Permanent Salary of up to £47,500 depending on experience. This is a Hybrid based role with occasional days at our Office in Gloucester candidates are required to be located within a commutable distance.

More about the Position

As an AI & Data Science Consultant will be instrumental in leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data to create data science solutions to improve existing products and contribute to internal and client projects.

This includes the application of Generative AI technologies—such as large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and prompt engineering—to build intelligent tools and enhance knowledge-based workflows.

This is a fantastic opportunity ideal for someone with expertise in this area, but eager to learn and adapt in the field of AI & data science as it changes. The AI & Data Science Consultant will collaborate with various teams to contribute to both internal and client projects.

You will be involved in:

  • Mentoring: Mentor junior members of the team helping them to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving and technical skills to help them learn to exploit data more effectively.
  • Best Practices and Standards: Assist the AI & Data Science Lead in continuing to develop AI & data science best practices and help implement them across our team and projects.
  • Generative AI Development: Design and implement applications using Generative AI, including LLM-based workflows, RAG architectures, prompt engineering approaches and agentic AI techniques. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities where GenAI can streamline tasks, automate insights, or improve decision support
  • Data Collection and Management: Gather, process, and manage data from disparate sources. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Clean and preprocess data to eliminate irrelevant, redundant, or erroneous information, preparing it for analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis: Perform statistical data analysis to understand data characteristics, trends, and patterns. Use statistical methods to validate assumptions and hypotheses.
  • Predictive Modelling: Develop predictive models using machine learning algorithms to forecast future trends, behaviours, and outcomes. This involves training, testing, and optimising models.
  • Data Visualisation: Create intuitive and insightful visualisations to represent data findings. Utilising python libraries and dashboarding tools like Power BI to make complex data understandable.
  • Insight Generation and Reporting: Extract meaningful insights from data analyses and communicate these findings to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and dashboards.
  • Problem Solving: Apply analytical and critical thinking to solve complex business problems, using data-driven approaches.
  • Continual Learning and Development: Keep up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data science and machine learning, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge.
  • Ethical Data Practices: Uphold ethical standards and comply with legal regulations in data handling, ensuring privacy and security of sensitive information. data handling, ensuring privacy and security of sensitive information.

What are we looking for:

  • Proficient in Python, R, or similar data analysis languages.
  • Proficient in Statistics.
  • Proficient in Data Processing and Data Cleaning.
  • Working Knowledge of Data Management and ETL Pipelines.
  • Proficient in Data Analysis.
  • Proficient in Data Visualisation and Data Story Telling.
  • Proficient in Analytical Problem Solving and Critical Thinking.
  • Proficient in Generative AI techniques, including the use of large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
  • Proficient in developing applications using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches.
  • Working Knowledge of tools and frameworks for building Generative AI applications (e.g., agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, embedding models, vector databases).
  • Proficient Machine Learning and Predictive Modelling.
  • Working Knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases.
  • Proficient in Communication and Collaboration Skills.
