Maritime Intelligence Analyst (Permanent)

Surrey | Hybrid working
A fast-growing UK maritime surveillance and data business is expanding its analyst/data capability and is looking for aMaritime Intelligence Analyst to turn complex maritime data into clear, actionable insight for government, security and commercial stakeholders.

What you'll do
  • Monitor maritime activity usingAIS, sensor feeds and OSINT
  • Identify and assess unusual, suspicious or high-risk vessel behaviours
  • Producealerts, vessel summaries, incident reports, threat assessments and briefings
  • Build customer-ready analytical outputs (dashboards/models/workflows) that make maritime data operational
  • Partner with product, ML, engineering and customer teams to improve tools and processes
  • Maintain watchlists, reporting standards and repeatable intelligence workflows
What we're looking for
  • Relevant degree (maritime-focused) or experience in maritime intelligence/security, shipping, insurance, risk, defence or similar
  • Python and SQL (essential) - used to analyse data and create repeatable analytical workflows/products
  • Strong judgement, curiosity and evidence-based decision making
  • Exposure to maritime domain awareness, vessel behaviour analysis,AIS, geospatial data,OSINT or sensor-derived intelligence
  • Clear, concise written reporting and confident communication with stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment
Nice to have
  • Experience with maritime data platforms,GIS, intel databases or visual analytics tools
  • Knowledge of piracy, smuggling, illegal fishing, sanctions evasion or grey-zone maritime activity
  • Ops centre / watchkeeping / incident monitoring / customer briefing experience
