Starfish Search are working with a local authority in Southern England to recruit an Interim BI & Insights Manager. This is a strategic interim role supporting data-led transformation and service improvement across the organisation. You’ll play a key part in helping the council harness insight and intelligence to inform decision-making, drive efficiencies, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll bring a generalist understanding of data and its application across local government services - helping translate complex analysis into meaningful insight that drives delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the development and delivery of business intelligence and insight strategies that support organisational priorities
  • Provide actionable insights to senior leaders, enabling data-informed decisions across services
  • Support transformation programmes by identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities through data with a focus on LGR
  • Work collaboratively across departments to embed data capability and encourage a culture of evidence-based practice

About You

  • An experienced BI and insights professional, ideally with exposure to local government or the wider public sector
  • Skilled in interpreting data to support strategic planning, transformation, and performance improvement
  • Comfortable working at pace and with autonomy, able to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • A clear and confident communicator, able to present data in a meaningful and accessible way

Please note that due to high application volumes, we regret that we cannot always respond to unsuccessful candidates.
