An established, people-focused mutual organisation is seeking an experienced General Insurance Pricing professional to join its Home Technical Pricing team.
The role
The successful candidate will lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of General Insurance pricing models, ensuring they remain accurate, predictive and aligned with business strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimising pricing models and technical rates.
- Identifying opportunities to improve pricing methodologies, tools and data.
- Challenging established approaches and introducing innovative techniques.
- Working closely with Underwriting and Pricing teams to refine rating structures and pricing strategies.
- Supporting the development of new pricing capabilities and digital channels.
- Using analytical expertise and market insight to improve model performance and pricing accuracy.
- Leading, mentoring and developing team members.
The candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced pricing professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for continuous improvement. They will be confident challenging existing approaches, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Experience in personal or commercial property lines and/or direct online channels would be advantageous.
They will ideally have:
- Significant General Insurance pricing experience with responsibility for pricing outputs.
- Strong experience developing, maintaining and enhancing risk pricing models and technical rates.
- Experience withEmblem and ideallyRadar.
- Proficiency inSQL, R, Python or similar analytical tools.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive, innovative and customer-focused approach.
- Experience managing, mentoring or coaching others would be beneficial but is not essential.
