The Role:
As a Category Assistant, you will have the drive and ambition to work within a dynamic, commercial function and you may be you looking to take your first step into a career in Buying or Category. As a Category Assistant, you will play a vital role in being the first point of contact for our expansive branch network and suppliers, supporting our Category team in ensuring we have the right range of products for our customers at the right gross margin profitability, securing the maximum amount of funding from our suppliers to support that range.
Key Responsibilities

Even though you'll focus on one product area, you'll team up with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Data every single day. It's the perfect launchpad for your career, giving you a complete, behind-the-scenes look at how a successful business actually runs.
You are actively encouraged to find smarter ways of working, leveraging AI and data automation to streamline processes and build highly transferrable tech skills.
The workload is fast-paced and incredibly varied. Suits people who don't necessarily want to do the same thing everyday.

You:

Skills and competencies

Confidence to build relationships
Comfortable working at pace and most of all not be afraid to get stuck in
A strong head for numbers, comfortable diving into data to spot trends and support commercial decisions
Have an innovative and agile approach to identify solutions
Enjoy working collaboratively with a dedicated focus on driving results
No Category or Industry experience is required
