About The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to actively support the advancement of capabilities of the DPUK Data Portal by championing the development and application of synthetic data. You will work closely with our partners and the wider team to build robust synthetic data tools and pipelines that enable secure data research.

A key focus of this position is demonstrating the real-world value of synthetic data within data research and secure environments. As part of this wider impact, you will collaborate with the UK Synthetic Data Community Group project to help further governance, standards, and tools for synthetic data. You will also develop analytical case studies that highlight the utility of different types of synthetic data, work with colleagues to create workshop materials and resources, and assist in writing and disseminating research reports and findings to the wider scientific community.

Main purposes of the role include:

  • Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain synthetic data pipelines and datasets.
  • Demonstrating Real-World Value: Showcasing the practical application of synthetic data within TREs through case studies that highlight the utility of synthetic data in different use cases.
  • Shaping National Standards: Working with the UK Synthetic Data Community Group project to help further governance frameworks, best practice standards, and shared tools for synthetic data.
  • Coordinating with colleagues to create workshop materials, training resources and guides to enable the wider uptake of synthetic data across the data research community.
  • Disseminating Findings: Writing up research findings, producing technical reports, and showcasing outcomes with stakeholders and the wider scientific community.
  • Working closely with partners and wider projects to build robust synthetic data tools, datasets, and pipelines that enable secure, federated research.

Where to Advertise Data Science Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise data science jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that actually reach senior and lead data science talent. Data science spans a broad and often misunderstood spectrum — from statistical modelling and experimental design through to machine learning engineering, product analytics and AI research. The strongest candidates identify firmly with specific subdisciplines and are frustrated by adverts that conflate data scientist with data analyst, business intelligence developer or machine learning engineer. General job boards produce high application volumes for data roles but consistently fail to match specialist data science profiles with the right opportunities. This guide, published by DataScienceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise data science roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
