Data Architect

La Fosse have partnered with a cutting-edge research body to recruit a Data Architect. You'd be joining at a pivotal time as the current architecture maturity level is low, so there's a really opportunity to help to build this up and design the new modern data platform.

You'll work with cross-functional teams to define data models, standards, and architecture to support advanced analytics, AI-driven diagnostics, and interoperability across systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about applying data architecture to real-world health and life sciences challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver scalable data architectures, standards, and models
  • Translate complex requirements into robust design for research and operational use
  • Support data engineering teams with guidance, mentoring, and hands-on collaboration
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance (including regulated environments)
  • Produce architecture artefacts and ensure alignment via governance processes
  • Contribute to a library of best practices, technical standards, and patterns
  • Optimise data flows, lifecycle, and integration across platforms

Experience Required

  • Proven experience designing modern data platforms
  • Strong understanding of data governance, cataloguing, and data lifecycle
  • Experience with cloud data platforms
  • Agile delivery experience and strong stakeholder communication
  • Experience architecting data in research or regulated healthcare settings

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on site at the client's Oxford HQ.
