Our client is a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation with an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional client service. Following continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Associate Director of Finance to work closely with the Finance Director in driving financial performance, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the strategic direction of the business.

This is a senior opportunity offering genuine influence across the organisation, where you'll combine technical expertise with commercial insight and people leadership. The role will be largely remote, with the expectation to travel to their office sporadically.

The Opportunity:

Working as a key member of the leadership team, you will play an integral role in overseeing the internal finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, delivering insightful reporting and helping to shape the future direction of finance across the business.

Alongside managing and developing a capable finance team, you'll be instrumental in identifying opportunities to improve systems, streamline processes and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Director in the delivery of the group's financial strategy and long-term business objectives.
  • Prepare and review consolidated monthly management reporting, annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, developing a high-performance culture through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Drive improvements across finance processes, systems, controls and reporting, including automation and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor team workload, capacity and resource planning to ensure service levels are consistently achieved.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and cost control.
  • Maintain robust governance, internal controls and audit readiness across the finance function.
  • Act as the technical lead on complex accounting matters and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, contributing to wider strategic initiatives, organisational growth and continuous improvement.

About You:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least five years' experience leading finance teams at a senior management level.
  • Experience producing consolidated financial reporting and managing budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience improving finance processes, systems and controls, ideally including finance transformation or automation projects.
  • Exposure to business intelligence or data visualisation tools would be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing and mentoring others.

On Offer:

  • Annual performance-related bonus.
  • Flexible and hybrid working.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Full support for ongoing professional development and CPD.
  • A collaborative, supportive and forward-thinking culture.
  • Regular social events, wellbeing initiatives and community involvement.
  • The opportunity to genuinely influence the future direction of the finance function.

If you're an ambitious senior finance professional looking to step into a strategic leadership role within a highly respected organisation, we'd be delighted to tell you more. Apply today or contact us for a confidential conversation.
