Howdens is recruiting a Transport Administrator to join our Transport team, which looks after 3PL contracts based in Thorne, Doncaster. In this role, you will provide vital administrative support to the Contracts Operations team, ensuring the seamless operation of our processes. By delivering accurate information to various departments and stakeholders, you'll play an essential role in maintaining our high standards of efficiency and service. What Will You Be Doing as a Transport Administrator:

  • Monitoring deliveries to depots and escalating potential risks to service.
  • Collating and analysing operational data to identify performance trends.
  • Producing detailed review packs for weekly supplier performance meetings.
  • Compiling and distributing weekly reports on delivery performance, pallet collections, and wood waste.
  • Maintaining the Control Checks master file with up-to-date information.
  • Supporting daily operations calls by providing service information and contributing to discussions.
  • Administering near-miss reports and ensuring timely investigation.
  • Monitoring third-party logistics (3PL) vehicle accidents using the Assure system.
  • Conducting workplace safety observations to ensure compliance with H&S procedures.
  • Challenging 3PL sites on a range of metrics to drive KPI improvements such as driver shift PvA.

    What Do You Need to Qualify for the Transport Administrator Role:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external third parties.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and ensure data integrity.
  • An analytical mindset is needed to identify inconsistencies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a wider team.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of driver’s hours regulations and Working Time Directive
