Job Title: Technology Director | 3D Visualisation & Digital Asset Management
Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site in London
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum

We’re working with a leading digital innovation studio, who specialise in creating large-scale immersive experiences across mobile apps, web platforms, and AR/VR. Their work combines technology, interactive storytelling, and digital ecosystems to deliver polished, high-impact experiences for global brands, media leaders, and major organisations.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technology Director to lead the technical development for a multi-project initiative that creates cutting-edge 3D visualisation workflows supporting marketing and media production for a new urban city.

The role requires a strong understanding of 3D production, app development, events technology, and full-stack development, with a focus on implementation, optimisation, and installation.

Sitting across multiple disciplines, including CGI, CG, Unreal Engine, and React.js-based web platforms, this position will play a key role in process improvement, technical problem-solving, and pipeline optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Pipeline Development

  • Design and oversee the technical framework for 3D visualisation workflows, ensuring seamless integration of digital asset pipelines in Unreal Engine or similar systems.

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust digital pipelines that support asset ingestion, processing, and distribution.

  • Optimise and enhance existing pipelines for greater efficiency and scalability.

  • Problem-solve and drive innovation in 3D production pipelines, ensuring seamless workflow execution.

    Data Asset & Web Service Management

  • Develop and manage scalable data asset management systems that maintain the integrity and accessibility of 3D assets.

  • Plan and execute web-based service platforms to share digital guidelines and provide real-time updates on the evolving design of the future city.

  • Ensure seamless integration between Unreal Engine pipelines and React.js-based web platforms.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with creative, marketing, content management, and production teams to align technical strategies with overall program objectives.

  • Ensure clear communication and coordination across various project streams to meet program milestones.

  • Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring all stakeholders understand development progress and potential technical constraints.

    Risk Management & Quality Assurance

  • Identify technical risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Uphold quality and security standards across all technical deliverables.

  • Ensure best practices in implementation and installation of 3D production workflows.

    Relevant Experience & Qualifications

    Solutions Architecture Expertise

  • Experience in solutions architecture for modern enterprise systems, with a deep understanding of digital asset management and workflow optimisation.

    Digital Pipeline Development

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and managing advanced digital pipelines for Unreal Engine or comparable real-time rendering platforms.

  • Proven expertise in optimising 3D production pipelines, ensuring efficient workflows from asset creation to deployment.

    Web & Full-Stack Development Knowledge

  • Experience in web-based platforms that interface with 3D pipelines.

  • Understanding of full-stack development, ensuring seamless integration between Unreal Engine assets and web platforms.

    Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-project programs and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, from technical experts to creative directors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on pipeline improvements and efficiency gains.

    Technical Proficiency & Communication

  • Proven expertise in cloud technologies, data architecture, and modern development practices.

  • Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and improve processes, ensuring smooth collaboration across all project areas.
