Support Engineer, CMT Promotions Excellence

Imagine being part of a team where your ideas have the potential to impact millions of consumers worldwide. CMT is looking for a Support Engineer (DevOps, Systems, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering skills) to own automating operational/development work. This will include identifying and resolving issues, automating and improving repetitive processes, and working closely with the development team. You will become intimate with the architecture of our systems and be responsible for diving deep into code, and developing solutions for our customers and services.


Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Owning troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing operational issues.
  2. Developing monitoring solutions.
  3. Performing infrastructure maintenance and configuration.
  4. Updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges.
  5. Working alongside development to update/enhance our current software.
  6. Automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.
  7. Collaborating with tech, product and operations teams that own promotions systems.


Key job responsibilities

An SE III is responsible for leading all the support activities and setting the best practices within the system. They regularly work with development teams to establish and improve service support. They operate with limited guidance from management and aggressively drive issues to resolution. They understand the business logic and architecture of supported services that enable them to regularly resolve undocumented trouble tickets. They provide mentoring, training, documentation, and tools to other Support Engineers to enable them to perform support activities. They regularly contribute to the creation and improvement of all support documentation. They help develop and refine operational policies and procedures used by the team and internal customers. They work on support projects that are large in scope and lead other Support Engineers on smaller projects. They participate fully and constructively in the planning of the team’s work. They contribute to the design and development of support tools using software engineering best practices. They mentor other Support Engineers and may be involved in hiring.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience.
  2. Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  3. Experience in Unix.
  4. Experience scripting in modern programming languages.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development.
  2. Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID.
  3. Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON.
