This is an exciting time for the Trust, as we launch our new ambitious Trust Strategy and start to plan as part of the New Hospitals Programme and Frimley Park Hospital.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our Strategy Team as the Strategy and Planning Manager reporting to the Associate Director of Strategy.

You will work alongside leaders in the coordination and publication of our new Trust Strategy and supporting strategies which will steer the trust through the next five years.

We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds with a proven track record in strategy work/ transformation or operations, whether from a consulting firm or in-house. Healthcare/NHS experience is a plus but not essential. You might already be in a managerial role or looking to step into your first strategy position.

Main duties of the job

This role will require someone to work independently across the organisation and with our leaders and teams to ensure all our strategies and plans are aligned internally and within our System partners where applicable.

  • Self-starter, skilled problem solver with a can-do attitude, able to deliver at pace and in a highly pressured environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Able to work across multi-functional teams to draw key themes.
  • Experience of initiating and delivering complex cross-organisation projects.
  • Experience in managing up and across.
  • Strong literacy and MS PowerPoint skills ensuring large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data can be distilled and communicated in a simple, effective way.

Person specificationQualifications

  • Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent training and experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

Experience

  • Relevant experience of working in an NHS organisation/other government organisation/ private sector organisation in a senior management position
  • Experience of implementing strategy/transformation plans across a number of departments/ teams/services
  • Experience of writing business cases, tenders and development plans
  • Experience in working with a range of stakeholders both within and outside the organisation
  • Experience of presenting information to a senior level in an organisation (senior leaders) and working closely with senior management
  • Experience of building meaningful relationships, including working with complex teams / structures
  • Delivery of projects against tight timescales, within financial and other constraints, and high expectations
  • Experience of researching best practice (private and public sector)

  • Demonstrate strong and credible leadership in being able to pull together people across the Trust and motivate them to deliver common aims and targets.
