As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank , you will play a crucial role in this initiative, dedicated to delivering an outstanding banking experience to our customers. You will work in a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team. We seek individuals with a curious mindset, keen interest in new technology, solution-oriented approach, and a focus on addressing customer needs. Our teams focus on specific banking functions and products, providing opportunities to build data pipelines and reporting capabilities for areas such as finance, treasury, financial crime prevention, regulatory reporting, and analytics. We collaborate with product teams like card payments, electronic payments, lending, customer onboarding, core banking, and insurance to understand data models and deliver tailored solutions.
Job Responsibilities Deliver end-to-end data pipeline solutions on cloud infrastructure using the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Apply domain modeling techniques to develop best-in-class business products.
Structure software to be understandable, testable, and adaptable.
Build scalable, fault-tolerant solutions avoiding single points of failure.
Develop secure code to protect customers and systems from malicious actors.
Investigate and resolve issues promptly, ensuring they do not recur.
Ensure releases occur with zero downtime.
Optimize data read/write processes for efficiency.
Monitor and enhance system performance.
Maintain system reliability and operability.
Continuously update technologies and patterns.
Support products throughout their lifecycle, including production and incident management.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills Formal training or certification in data engineering and applied experience.
Recent hands-on experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
Proficiency in Python programming.
Experience designing and implementing various tests (unit, integration, performance, etc.).
Excellent communication skills in English.
Experience with cloud technologies and distributed systems.
Knowledge of data transformation frameworks and orchestration tools.
Experience managing large data volumes and optimizing processing.
Understanding of event-driven architecture, streaming, and messaging frameworks.
Ability to coach team members on best practices and design principles.
Stakeholder management and multi-stream prioritization skills.
Understanding of distributed query engines.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills Experience in highly regulated environments.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks.
Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
Understanding incremental data processing and versioning.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web technologies.
