Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled VP of Research with deep expertise in market research methodologies, client management, and business development. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, possess strong integrity, and have a commitment to ethical professional conduct. This role reports to the Managing Director within our London team, with a dotted reporting line to the CEO. The candidate must have strong knowledge of the European market, including consumer trends, cultural nuances, and the competitive landscape, and be able to work effectively with a global team across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end custom research projects, including project planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop and implement research methodologies, focusing on quantitative approaches, ensuring robust and actionable insights.
  • Design and oversee research instruments, including survey questionnaires, to capture high-quality data.
  • Oversee data collection and analysis to ensure the integrity and reliability of research outputs.
  • Interpret the output of advanced analytical techniques (e.g., segmentation, weighting, predictive modeling) to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver high-quality reports with actionable recommendations, helping clients make informed business decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact to understand their business needs and research objectives.
  • Drive business development, including identifying new opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, proposal writing, and pitching research solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams across different time zones, ensuring smooth communication and coordination with overseas colleagues and executives.


Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in custom research, market analytics, or consulting.
  • Strong expertise in survey design, research methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing omnibus research studies from design to delivery.
  • Proven success managing international campaigns and multi-country studies, with a high degree of speed, agility, and analytical sophistication.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, Stata, Q, R, Python, or other statistical software.
  • Experience in survey programming using platforms such as Decipher, Qualtrics, or SurveyMonkey.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a high-level strategic perspective.
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present insights to senior executives.
  • Industry experience preferred: Prior work in market research and consulting firms such as Ipsos, Kantar, GfK, Nielsen, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or Deloitte is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the European market, including consumer trends, cultural nuances, and the competitive landscape, is required.
  • Ability to collaborate with global teams and work across different time zones effectively.
  • Educational background: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Market Research, or a related field.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and presentations.
