SQL Developer - 6/12 month FTC

My Client based in Warrington is seeking a talented SQL Developer to join their Business Intelligence team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining and further developing a robust data warehouse and associated processes built using SQL and SSIS. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance and streamline critical systems within a dynamic organisation.

This will be a fixed term contract - duration 6-12 months.

Key Responsibilities

Enhance the existing data warehouse, reducing manual tasks.

Integrate inbound data streams and automate secure data loading processes.

Monitor and oversee incoming and outgoing data submissions, ensuring accuracy and completion.

Apply business logic to data loads, including de-duplication, error correction, and handling invalid data.

Improve the preparation and timeliness of data submissions to underwriters and client money transfers.

Collaborate with teams to streamline reconciliation processes between underwriting and finance.

Develop mechanisms to identify and correct data rule breaches, enabling continuous improvement.

Execute database queries, perform analyses, and create reports or visualisations.

Maintain and update technical documentation.

Skills and Expertise

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ and T-SQL.

Expertise in performance tuning for T-SQL queries.

Advanced proficiency with SSRS, SSIS, and Visual Studio (BI Stack).

Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and database design.

Experience in database management, including capacity planning and performance optimisation.

Advanced Excel skills, including Power Pivot.

Excellent data analysis and visualisation capabilities.

Familiarity with N-Tier Architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

Experience with unit testing frameworks and dependency injection/inversion of control.
