My client, a dynamic company based in the heart of Hertford, is looking for an enthusiastic Software Developer to join our rapidly expanding team. You'll be a key player in the evolution of their cutting-edge workforce platform, developing exciting new features, crafting custom solutions for clients, and ensuring the platform's smooth operation through troubleshooting and bug fixing.
We're looking for someone who loves to code and isn't afraid to dive into a variety of projects. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, learning from the best and contributing your own unique perspective. Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop high-quality, clean, and efficient code using Microsoft SQL Server, HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript.
  • Maintain and enhance existing complex codebases, ensuring their continued functionality and performance.
  • Analyse and resolve complex software issues, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software defects, ensuring the delivery of stable and reliable applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain database schemas and queries within Microsoft SQL Server, optimising performance and data integrity.
  • Conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to requirements.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest software development trends, technologies, and methodologies.
    Required Skills:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in software development, including designing, coding and testing.
  • Confident with programming in Microsoft SQL Server, HTML 5, CSS 3 and vanilla JavaScript.
  • Ability to work with an existing complex code base.
  • Ability to solve complex software issues using analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of the software.
  • Interest in learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies to stay at the forefront of software development trends.
  • Exposure to PowerShell, Figma, C#, AWS, Azure (Desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with agile development methodology (Desirable but not essential)
