Senior Research Executive (Quantitative) Health and Social Care

Our client is a market leader in social research and seek a new hire to join the Health and Social Care team. Delivering results to clients that can be acted on and impact on policy-making across the health and social care sector this role is focused quantitative research, supporting a range of surveys that measure patient experience, public perceptions and behaviours. We are particularly looking for candidates with the ability to check and analyse large datasets. Although quantitative-leaning, the role can also include qualitative research for the right candidate.

  • Managing smaller quantitative (and potentially qualitative) research projects from inception through to delivery, or managing strands of larger surveys
  • Expanding your methodological knowledge and inputting to survey design (e.g. through managing methodological experiments), sharing learnings across projects
  • Effective communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Taking a proactive approach to developing knowledge of the client’s business
  • Effectively managing relationships with suppliers and with internal operations colleagues to ensure the objectives of the research are met and on budget
  • Making suggestions for more efficient or effective approaches
  • Drafting questionnaires (and potentially discussion guides) that meet clients’ and stakeholders’ objectives
  • Drafting fieldwork materials such as invitation letters and interviewer instructions
  • Drafting data specifications and checking data files
  • Analysing large datasets and applying appropriate statistical tests
  • Preparing data outputs including the creation of new variables within SPSS

    What do I need to bring with me:

  • Good quantitative social research skills, and ability to comfortably pick up projects and deliver day-to-day
  • Excellent attention to detail, organised, and solutions-focused
  • Good project and budget management skills
  • Time management skills, working across multiple projects, prioritising tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work to tight and demanding deadlines to deliver profitable work and assure quality of all outputs
  • Experience in writing questionnaires and fieldwork materials
  • Proficiency in Excel, SPSS and other packages
  • Ability to understand and work with complex datasets

    Our client has won a lot of new government projects and have multiple roles across their public and social research team - some quant, some qual and some mixed methods.
