The Role

We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Developer to play a key role in the design, build and validation of mathematical models that power our industry-leading market surveillance products. This position is for our Metrics team, who are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of our market abuse metrics and analytics.

The successful candidate will combine excellent mathematical skills and proven industry experience with the ability to produce high-quality software.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing complex quantitative models and sophisticated pattern-detection algorithms for use across all TH product offerings
  • Architecting robust systems for quantitative analysis and prototyping proprietary mathematical/statistical models
  • Leading technical research efforts and implementing production-ready solutions using in-house big data languages
  • Optimising core algorithms for deep analysis of financial data, security pricing, and risk assessment
  • Ensuring production systems meet performance and reliability requirements across the technology stack
  • Taking ownership of major components of the TH's quantitative infrastructure

Main skills/competencies:

  • Proven financial markets experience, ideally within an investment bank or hedge fund
  • Proficiency with C#, Python or another object-oriented programming language
  • Exceptional mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to the fixed-income or commodities asset classes
  • Deep understanding of derivatives and how they are priced (e.g. options, swaps, futures)
  • Good knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, Postgres etc.
  • Experience coaching more junior team members
  • Able to deliver projects to agreed deadlines with excellent prioritisation skills
