  2. 2+ years of experience in leading or contributing to a design system, including defining, maintaining, and scaling design components and patterns.
  3. A portfolio showcasing case studies in both product design and design system projects, demonstrating strategic thinking, strong UX/UI design, a clear problem-solving process, and measurable impact on users and business outcomes.
  4. Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional peers and stakeholders.
  5. Passion for designing complex user journeys, attention to detail, and ability to communicate and justify design decisions effectively.
  6. Deep understanding of the end-to-end design process, from ideation to launch, including collaboration with engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure high-quality implementation.
  7. Strong competence in Figma and common design tools, with experience creating interactive prototypes (Protopie, Figma, After Effects preferred).
  8. Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation and usage guidelines for design system components, tokens, and variables.
  9. Experience working closely with engineers to implement, refine, and scale design system components effectively.
  10. Ability to drive design system governance, including contribution workflows, versioning, and stakeholder alignment.
  11. Expertise in A11Y, ensuring consistency, scalability, and inclusivity.

Nice to have:

  1. Prior experience working in health tech or wellness apps.
  2. Experience collaborating closely with content creators, for example, editors or writers.

  7. Advocate for accessibility (A11Y) and ensure designs are inclusive and scalable across different user groups.

DESIGN SYSTEM

  1. Build, maintain, and evolve Flo’s Design System from the ground up, ensuring scalability, usability, and alignment with business and user needs.
  2. Create and define new components, patterns, and templates using atomic design principles.
