About your team:

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

We are seeking a skilledSenior Infrastructure Security Engineer (Cloud)with expertise inAzure and AWSto leadCentrica's cloudinfrastructure development and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and AWS, and a strong background in automation, security, and compliance.

Location: Home-based with occasional travel to Windsor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance cloud platform functionality, security, and compliance
  • Drive service improvements and operational excellence
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage escalations
  • Recommend IT service management best practices
  • Integrate security into cloud solutions
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning with IaC tools
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance
  • Maintain secure and compliant environments
  • Collaborate with application and data teams
  • Develop disaster recovery strategies
  • Implement governance processes and policies
  • Optimize monitoring, alerting, and incident management

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in cloud engineering and automation
  • Strong CI/CD processes and tools skills
  • Proficiency in managing EntraID Conditional Access
  • Proficiency with IaC, cloud networking, and security
  • Strong skills in Azure App registrations, Enterprise Apps and associated permissions
  • Administration of identity and access management
  • Knowledge of Azure services and cloud platform technologies
  • Experience with role-based access control and managed identities
  • Familiarity with Azure security monitoring solutions

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset

Senior Responsibilities:

  • Mentor team members
  • Contribute to cross-team initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, focusing on Azure and AWS
