Senior Financial Systems Accountant

Our client, a local government body in the South East of England, is currently recruiting for a Financial Systems Accountant.
The role is to start as soon as possible on a 10 month temporary basis and the client is offering a generous daily rate, dependent on experience.
The ideal candidate will CCAB qualified and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps).
Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the financial configuration and oversight of line-of-business finance systems, including interfaces with corporate finance, capital governance and contract systems
  • Provide technical accounting advice and support to operational projects and teams during system implementations or developments with financial system dependencies
  • Collaborate with project teams, working groups, or work independently to test, update and implement financial changes into finance systems
  • Design, generate and maintain financial reports and dashboards to support data management, compliance, performance monitoring, sound financial management and data quality

  • Problem Solving: Aptitude for working as part of a team to resolve issues
  • Decision-Making: Capable of making informed decisions about systems and data flows
  • Project Delivery: Understanding of project management principles and experience delivering projects
  • Data Insight & Analysis: Use of data insights to inform decisions and drive improvements
  • Compliance Awareness: Ensuring systems and processes meet regulatory requirements
    Experience required:
  • Significant experience in finance, data and business systems development
  • CCAB qualification
  • Advanced IT proficiency, especially in:
  • Microsoft Excel (including plug-ins)
  • Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps)
    Working hours:
  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
