Fund Accountant

Cambridge CB5 8AB / Hybrid Working

(minimum 3 days/week) with occasional travel to our London office required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Amadeus Capital Partners, a global venture capital firm, is seeking a Fund Accountant to play a pivotal role in our finance team. Supporting the Senior Fund Accountant, your responsibilities will develop across tax, financial accounting, fund reporting and fund management and you will bring a strong data analytics focus to our fund operations. This is a rare opportunity to join a VC firm where you operate at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation, giving you the exposure to exciting high-growth companies and to build partnerships with experienced investment professionals.

This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with at least 1-2 years post-qualification experience (PQE), potentially making a first move from audit or looking to broaden their exposure within the venture capital industry.

We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset and someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, small team environment. You will bring an analytical mindset, superb data analysis skills – be highly proficient in Excel, and combine this with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and work effectively with financial systems.

This is a full-time role (5 days/week).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Fund Accountant your core responsibilities will include:

Financial Accounting & Fund Reporting



Preparing accurate and timely quarterly fund management accounts and audited statutory accounts.

*

Producing and maintaining track records.

*

Reviewing valuations of portfolio companies and participating in quarterly valuation meetings

*

Preparing and distributing relevant financial reporting to investors.

General fund management

*

Preparing and issuing draw down and distribution notices to fund investors; monitoring collection and payment with the Finance Assistant.

*

Assisting with portfolio and exit summaries for presentations, including investor day (AGM).

*

Responding to information requests from investors.

*

Liaising with auditors, lawyers and bankers at the fund level.

Tax

*

Assisting with the production of annual UK & US tax returns and subsequent distribution to our Investors

*

Working on matters relating to M&A taxation

Transaction & Portfolio Support

*

Support the Head of Finance and Senior Fund Accountant on sales of quoted stock.

*

General ad hoc portfolio support where required

*

Ad-Hoc & Project Involvement

The above list is not exhaustive and ad hoc tasks and project involvement will be expected.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

*

Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) - ideally 1-2+ years PQE, with experience in audit, fund accounting, or related fields

*

Highly proficient in Excel, data analysis and financial systems; experience with analytics tools is a significant plus.

*

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to quickly absorb new, often complex numerical information and to question, interpret and present financial data clearly and insightfully.

*

A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

*

A keen interest in technology and/or the venture capital ecosystem and a willingness to engage with the business

*

Organised and able to multi-task and keep abreast of moving pieces, managing multiple deadlines

*

Excellent communication skills, a friendly team player, who can collaborate across teams and partner at all levels
