Senior Data Scientist role - Financial Services | Guildford £80k

I’m working with a successful financial services company in the Guildford area to recruit a talented Senior Data Scientist to join their technical team. You will be working in small Data Science team on green-field projects so we are looking for someone who can assess business needs and build a range of predictive Data Science models from the ground-up. They are at the early stages of their Data Science journey so you will have the opportunity to influence their approach and the models they are building and mentor more Junior team members.

The role:

  • Build Data Science models from a variety of sources to allow better decision making.

  • Understand the business context and build models to solve business needs.

  • Help in the process of manipulating data from a Snowflake data warehouse.

  • Develop algorithms and robust data-driven solutions.

  • Build generative AI tools into products for optimising business processes.

    To be considered you will have many of the:

  • A good Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field

  • At least 5 years demonstrable data science experience with a range of predictive modelling techniques and knowledge of Generative AI tools.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala.

  • Familiarity with ETL, Data Pipelines, Data Modelling and Data Warehousing (they are using Snowflake)

  • Machine learning expertise (scikit-learn, TensorFlow)

  • Strong communication skills for presenting to different business functions and analysing their needs.

    Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + good pension + 25 days holiday + Discretionary bonus + Private medical + life assurance

    Location: Hybrid Working - 3 days in the office near Guildford
