Senior Data Scientist - Liverpool - Hybrid - £65k - £70k


My client are an emerging business in the retail industry who are looking to advance their data science capabilities. The chosen candidate will play a key role in developing these capabilities and will lead on best practices and development of their data science goals.


Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive salary of up to £70k (DOE)
  • Flexible hybrid balance - work 2 days in the office and the rest from home
  • 25 days annual holiday, rising to 28 days with years of service

Role and Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver data science solutions that drive business outcomes
  • Lead the development of predictive and optimisation models using Python, Databricks, and GCP
  • Enhance the businesses AI and ML capabilities to modernise the data platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their goals and ensure analytics work is aligned to practical business requirements
  • Lead and take ownership of discrete workstreams within larger projects, ensuring timely, accurate, and business-relevant outputs
  • Contribute to strategy and best practice for the long-term development of the data science function


Requirements

  • Experience in a data science leadership position
  • Expert use of Python, PySpark, and PyTorch
  • Strong experience with AI and ML best practice and development
  • Databricks and GCP experience
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Excellent stakeholder management
