Senior Data Engineer - Cloud (Contract)

London - 2-3 days per week in office

£95.00 - £115.00 per hour (via umbrella)

6-month contract - likely to extend (project expected to run through to Easter next year)

Are you a skilled Software or Data Engineer with strong DevOps knowledge and experience working with large-scale data migrations? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team working on a major system redesign and cloud migration project.

The Project:

This role is part of a large-scale data migration initiative, moving approximately 500GB of data from an on-premise system into a new Oracle-based cloud infrastructure. The project is split across two sub-teams: one focused on the technical implementation, the other on process investigation and analysis. You'll be joining the technical delivery team and will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient migration.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the migration of large data systems to the cloud
  • Designing and developing scalable data engineering solutions
  • Working with modern DevOps tools and full-stack technologies
  • Scripting and automating processes to optimise workflows
  • Collaborating with team members across engineering and process analysis
  • Contributing to a fast-paced and agile environment
