Senior Data Engineer
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire (flexible home working)
Clearance Required: UK DV (must have lived in the UK for 10 years)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a growing team working across critical UK sectors. You'll apply your software development and data engineering expertise to design, build, and support scalable, sustainable data solutions in the cloud.

What you'll do:

Work as part of an Agile team of Data Engineers
Build, maintain, and operate cloud-based data environments
Debug and resolve data processing and analytics issues
Develop data integration and processing pipelines
Collaborate with engineering, testing, and DevOps teams
Support migration of test and production data
Provide Tier 3 operational support

What we're looking for:

Strong PostgreSQL administration and SQL programming skills
Experience with AWS database offerings (e.g. RDS, Aurora)
Background in resolving SQL performance issues
Experience leading teams in Agile/Scrum environments
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable skills:

AWS Aurora / RDS managed databases
Large-scale data migration experience
Familiarity with Oracle, DB2,
Scripting (Python)
AWS Data Migration Services (DMS) expertise
