What you'll be doing

Are you ready to contribute to the evolution of our data pipelines for our B2C division? At Future, we are transforming our data-driven decision-making processes and are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Engineer to join us. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone who excels in a creative environment, enjoys solving complex data challenges, and is eager to build impactful business insights. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Data Engineering.

The Data & Business Intelligence team guides our organization to become more data-driven by ensuring visibility of objective performance data. This empowers our teams to make rapid, informed decisions that enhance overall performance.

Important Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain features of the data platform.
  • Deliver development projects, including scoping, writing, and sizing stories.
  • Take ownership of BAU processes, develop domain mastery, and seek automation or reduction of their impact. Propose and advocate for changes to reduce risk, cost, and overhead.
  • Provide documentation for pipelines developed.
  • Parameterize pipelines for easy configuration changes without deep code modifications.
  • Apply testing principles to ensure code quality and purposefulness.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve:

  • Experience using Python on Google Cloud Platform for Big Data projects, including BigQuery, DataFlow (Apache Beam), Cloud Run Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Composer.
  • SQL development skills.
  • Experience using Dataform or dbt.
  • Strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and storage principles.
  • Familiarity with statistical models or data mining algorithms and practical application experience.

The expected salary range is £50k - £60K.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bath Office, with three days in the office and two working from home.
