Senior Data Engineer Birmingham (hybrid) £65,000 to £75,000 per annum Permanent

I am seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a market leading organisation to play a pivotal role in managing and optimising their data infrastructure. You will be at the heart of a collaborative team that values knowledge sharing and offers exposure to every facet of the business.

Senior Data Engineer – What will you be doing?

  • Oversee the end-to-end management of Azure Data Factory (ADF), ensuring robust pipeline creation, maintenance, and optimisation for reliable data movement throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders from various divisions to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilise Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports that empower teams across the business to make informed decisions based on real-time analytics.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all data processes, ensuring transparency and ease of knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data integration or pipeline failures promptly, minimising downtime and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Support ongoing projects by providing expert advice on best practices in data architecture, security, and governance within cloud-based environments.

Senior Data Engineer – What will you need?

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing Azure Data Factory environments with experience building scalable pipelines for enterprise-level organisations.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Fabric with other platforms for streamlined business operations.
  • Advanced skills in extracting, transforming, and loading large datasets from complex ERP systems into cloud-based architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling effective collaboration with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders across multiple divisions.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects where teamwork, empathy, and responsiveness are highly valued traits.
  • A considerate approach towards mentoring junior colleagues or sharing expertise during group training sessions.
