Location: London, UK

Summary of Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Data Analyst to join the BMS Data. Embedded within the Group Data Function, this role will report to the Group Head of Data Strategy and Governance and act as a key bridge between Group-level data strategy and business needs. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into clear, insightful, and actionable visualisations to empower data driven decision-making across the organisation. You will collaborate closely with various business stakeholders to understand their needs, analyse data, and develop compelling visualizations that effectively communicate key insights and trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation tracking for data deliverables.
  • Implement and promote effective data visualisation standards across the organisation.
  • Provide training and guidance on data visualisation and data management practices to employees and stakeholders.
  • Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Utilise statistical techniques to identify patterns and trends within the data.
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address business problems and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Rapidly prototype solutions using visualisation tools to validate concepts and minimise development time.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand and address business challenges.
  • Continuously monitor and analyse data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate complex data insights and trends clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work within plan-driven (waterfall) or iterative (agile) delivery methodologies based on project requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance and data management policies and procedures.
  • Identify and manage data-related risks and issues.
  • Monitor data usage and access to ensure compliance with data-related policies.
  • Assess and improve data quality to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in data management.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in data visualisation, data management, automation, and business analysis.
  • Continuously learn and develop your skills to stay ahead of the curve in the evolving data landscape.
  • Ensure that Group-wide data policies, platforms, and standards are adopted effectively across the business.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a data-related role, ideally within a multinational or matrixed organisation.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and communication skills.
  • Strong skillset with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake), BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and data catalogues/governance tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data management frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a Group or Centre of Excellence (CoE) model.
  • A collaborative and pragmatic mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes through data.
