Senior Data Analyst

Senior Analysts lead analytics for client projects. This means designing the analytical approach, working with the PM to create the project plan, assigning work across the other analysts on the project, coaching delivery and quality assuring the output. As a senior team member, you will also play a part in the coaching and development of other analysts in 121 or group learning environments.

 

Responsibilities

Our Senior Data Analysts:


Are experts in turning large quantities of complex client data into insights which can be used to inform decision making and drive business benefit

Are quick to identify incomplete and diverse data sets, pinpointing data issues which may affect the accuracy and completeness of any analysis performed

Recognise the importance and value of understanding the data they are analysing, validating the information provided and reconciling the data sets as part of the Data Analytics Cycle

Are experienced in producing data visualisations, detailed reporting and analytics underpinned with clear business commentary

Work closely with multi-disciplined teams to deliver end to end client solutions in a timely manner

Balance the technical and analytical demands of their role with the need for strong engagement with our clients and consultants alike

Can conduct consumer data analytics for our Tier 1 Telecoms / Utilities provider clients that will provide insights into a range of focus areas, including customer eligibility compliance, discount and promotion activities and key performance indicators construction

Analysis activities that require insights to be derived from the data sets to enable business case construction to address any data anomalies found

Are open minded and flexible with a thirst for knowledge and an appetite for continuous development

Work closely with multi-disciplined teams to deliver end to end client solutions in a timely manner

What success looks like in the role

Clear, concise, and insightful data analytics which enable our clients to make sound business decisions based on fact

Translation of data analysis into targeted information which can be converted into actionable improvements, based on specific client / industry need

Create impactful data visuals and compelling narratives

Continued improvement of Sagacity's Product Suite through the delivery of robust data insight

Taking full accountability and ownership for client and internal deliverables

Proving knowledge transfer support, peer to peer reviews and mentoring as a team to increase the team's skill sites and drive continuous learning

 

Competencies and Behaviours

      5+ years of relevant experience

      Commercial experience within Telecoms, Banking or Utilities industries; or within a data related consultancy company

      Proficiency in analytical programming language such as python and/or SQL

      Understanding of relational databases and concepts for querying data

      Proficiency in tools like Tableau, and/or Power BI

      Commercial acumen

      Ability to translate high-level business questions and objectives into analytical tasks

      Creates robust project plans working backwards from deadlines with all necessary steps e.g. testing, QA. Proactively identifies risk and suggests mitigation

      Is inquisitive, suggests 'next steps' analysis and translates analytical findings to actionable insight and commercial recommendations

      Able to travel throughout the UK

      Can be based at our London Office
