Senior BI Developer


📍 Remote | 💰 Up to £60,000 | 🧠 Ownership | 🚀 Innovation | 📊 Build Something Meaningful

My client is searching for aSenior BI Developerto take ownership of their reporting and analytics capability. This is a hands-on role where you’ll bring structure, best practice, and direction to a maturing data environment within a growing UK law firm.

You’ll be joining at a pivotal stage, early enough to influence how data is used across the business, with the backing of senior leadership and a collaborative data team.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building intuitive Power BI dashboards from scratch using DAX and Power Query
  • Designing scalable data models and working with the engineering team on architecture
  • Creating reports that directly support legal, finance, and operational teams
  • Supporting the move to self-serve analytics and building data literacy across the business
  • Leading BI best practices, documentation, and governance
  • Mentoring colleagues and helping embed a more data-informed culture


Essential Skills

  • Advanced SQL (including CTEs, optimisation, and performance tuning)
  • Proven Power BI experience – dashboard creation, visual storytelling, DAX
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and best practices
  • Data governance and security awareness, ideally in a regulated environment
  • Ability to work independently, ask the right questions, and challenge where needed


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Azure tools such as Synapse, DevOps or Databricks
  • Knowledge of Python or PySpark for data transformation
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Power BI deployment processes
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or supporting wider data teams
  • Background in legal or professional services (not essential)
