Are you a data enthusiast who enjoys turning raw information into clear, insightful reporting? At BW Legal, data drives all of our decision-making. We're looking for an experienced Senior BI Developer to join our Business Intelligence team and play a pivotal role in helping the business harness data to its full potential. You'll use your technical expertise, business acumen and problem-solving mindset to ensure that our reporting is insightful, automated, and supports smarter, faster decisions across the company.

From day one, you'll be embedded in key projects from inception to delivery, helping us build high-quality, relevant, and timely reporting that gives colleagues clear visibility into how our products and processes are performing.

What you'll be doing
  • Data warehousing development to make it easier to extract data
  • Developing new processes to extract, transform and load client data
  • Collating user requirements to create new reporting and MI suites
  • Processing ad-hoc data requests
  • Analysing existing SQL queries for performance improvements
  • Managing existing MI reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery for both internal and external customers
  • Using our reporting software to build internal and external reports
  • Provisioning high-level dashboards through to granular level reports
  • Managing data accuracy and report automation for clients to minimise regular manual work
  • Building relationships with key organisational stakeholders to promote the use of MI/BI throughout the business
What we're looking for

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of experience using MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) in a work environment
  • Experience of using T-SQL for querying
  • Excellent understanding of ETL processes
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI (or similar) to facilitate report building and automation
  • Able to see a project through from requirement collation through to build and completion

Desirable:

  • Graduated with a 2:1 degree or above in either Maths, Science, Physics or Computing
  • Experience using Python
  • Working knowledge of how to implement a data warehouse

Working hours and salary

Your working week will be 7 hours per day, 9am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

With a starting salary of between £40,000 - £50,000 depending on your experience, Senior BI Developers enjoy regular performance-based reviews which reward their success with a clear progression path for future earnings.
