Senior BI Data Analyst (Contractor/Remote) We are looking for an experienced BI Data Analyst to join us, initially on a short term contract (4 months), with potential for extension or to make the role permanent in the future.    About the Company We are a boutique B2B provider of sports betting software and services that, uniquely, offers operators all the control and autonomy of an in-house Sportsbook with the convenience of a turnkey solution.

All our products are built using proprietary technology with innovation at their core, focusing on the need for our customers to have new and engaging sports betting products and services.

We prioritise talent density over headcount, and value the smartest people with the lowest egos.

To thrive here at Metric, you will enjoy the freedom of working autonomously, yet cooperate with others as part of a team, all striving for high performance in a high-challenge yet high-support environment.

Our Tech Stack Our data environment is built on Databricks, which serves as the central platform where all data is stored and processed.

SQL is used to create and manage our reporting layer, transforming raw data into structured reporting tables within a dedicated schema.

These tables act as the primary data sources for our business intelligence tools, including Tableau and Sigma, enabling teams across the business to access timely, accurate insights through interactive dashboards and reports.

We also use Datadog to analyse and report on customer journeys within the platform.

Your day-to-day Primarily we are looking for someone who can help maintain, support and develop our business intelligence tools on a day to day basis.

As a Senior BI Data Analyst, your primary focus will be development and ownership of the analytical output from our Data Lakehouse and self-service Tableau environment.

In short, you will collect, store and categorise data, in line with business needs, while also ensuring it is easy to retrieve.  You will be expected to build and maintain Tableau dashboards, ensuring strong performance, uptime and access control, as well as write and maintain complex SQL queries to support reporting and analytics in our Databricks environment.  Your responsibilities extend to seamless cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Trading, Product, Finance, Sales and our external partners, where you will coordinate to tackle our most pressing business challenges.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience as a BI or Data Analyst, ideally in a contract or interim role.

Advanced SQL proficiency is a must, with experience building data models in Databricks or similar platforms.

Strong Tableau experience, including admin level responsibilities (such as access control) is critical, as well as the ability to work independently to solve complex data problems.  Experience in the gambling, gaming or other high volume transactional environments is highly advantageous.

  What’s in it for you?

We value your contribution, not your job title or level, and put you in the driver's seat when it comes to career development.

Promotion, reward and development in your role is driven by your own pace of growth, rather than vacancies or at a set timeline.

Our success is built on an environment of cross-functional collaboration, agility and variety, with flexibility in the work you do, and where you do it.

We have a servant leadership philosophy, where you will be challenged in an honest and transparent way, with regular quality feedback to support both your personal and career development.

“High challenge; high support”.  We value behaviours and soft skills with the same merit as we do technical ability.

At Metric, you are a name and not a number, join us and make a genuine impact on our product and culture.

Our highly interactive senior leadership team is open and accessible,  something our colleagues value interaction and collaboration highly.   Vital to our culture is our commitment to uphold our Values, and challenge each other when we see behaviours that may be unfaithful to them.

They are:  Integrity: We take pride in doing what’s right, with no exceptions.  Collaboration: We win by working intelligently with people we trust.  Committed To Excellence: If it’s not done correctly, it’s not done.  Play To Win: We take our work seriously, but not ourselves Powered by JazzHR

Negotiating Your Data Science Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Data science has rapidly evolved from a niche specialty to a cornerstone of strategic decision-making in virtually every industry—from finance and healthcare to retail, entertainment, and AI research. As a mid‑senior data scientist, you’re not just running predictive models or generating dashboards; you’re shaping business strategy, product innovation, and customer experiences. This level of influence is why employers are increasingly offering compensation packages that go beyond a baseline salary. Yet, many professionals still tend to focus almost exclusively on base pay when negotiating a new role. This can be a costly oversight. Companies vying for data science talent—especially in the UK, where demand often outstrips supply—routinely offer equity, bonuses, flexible work options, and professional development funds in addition to salary. Recognising these opportunities and effectively negotiating them can have a substantial impact on your total earnings and long-term career satisfaction. This guide explores every facet of negotiating a data science job offer—from understanding equity structures and bonus schemes to weighing crucial perks like remote work and ongoing skill development. By the end, you’ll be well-equipped to secure a holistic package aligned with your market value, your life goals, and the tremendous impact you bring to any organisation.
