THE COMPANY

An established online travel agency, specialising in boat and ferry bookings, is seeking aSenior BI Analystto join their data-driven team. The company offers a wide range of ferry routes and destinations, connecting travellers across Europe. Their platform allows customers to easily search, compare, and book ferry tickets.

THE JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior BI Analyst will be instrumental in driving data-led decision-making within the organisation. This role will involve developing and maintaining BI solutions, conducting in-depth data analysis, and providing actionable insights to support business strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, build, and manage BI dashboards and reports utilising Tableau and SQL.
• Conduct thorough data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and potential business opportunities.
• Assist product teams by analysing the performance of various features.
• Handle large databases to extract and interpret key data insights.
• Provide data-backed insights to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
• Foster stakeholder relationships and effectively present analysis and findings.

THE REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this Senior BI Analyst, you will require...

Essential:

• Ability to write complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries and correlated subqueries, as well as aggregate functions.
• Proficiency in building interactive dashboards, applying complex table calculations, and using Level of Detail (LOD) expressions for advanced data analysis in Tableau.
• Experience with large datasets and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift).
• Proven ability to conduct complex data analysis and interpret results.
• Experience in eCommerce or a related field is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Python or similar programming languages.
• Experience with data visualisation tools beyond Tableau.
• Familiarity with data science methodologies and techniques.
