What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics you will work closely with business and technology teams across Wealth Management Europe to support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the data analytics infrastructure with approximately 80% of the role allocated to database design and maintenance and 20% focus on dashboard creation and the delivery of insights to the business.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the design, development and ongoing maintenance of the scalable Data Analytics data infrastructure using the Microsoft SQL technology stack to serve as the foundational layer for analytics and insights, support and guide team on technical design and implementations.

  • Thorough understanding of T-SQL to create new and modify existing ETLs / ELT’s, stored procedures and SSIS packages to support efficient reporting and analytics to the business.

  • Create, maintain, and develop Dev, UAT and Production database environments ensuring consistency.

  • Proactive in identifying new opportunities / enhancements of the Data Analytics environment, together with any migrations as required.

  • Competent in using GitHub (or other version control tooling) and in using data and schema comparisons via Visual Studio.

  • Champion for the DevOps process to ensure the latest techniques are being used and that implementation methodologies involving new or changes to existing source code or DB structure follow the agreed development and release processes and that all productionised code is adequately documented and reviewed.

  • Identify, source, stage, and model internal process improvements to automate manual processes and optimise data delivery for greater scalability, as part of the end-to-end data lifecycle.

  • Research, explore and understand business problems and reporting requirements to facilitate the design, development and deployment of solutions and dashboards, enabling end user self-service, incorporating drill-down functionality.

  • Work in conjunction with Finance and Technology functions to understand the reconciliations process and flow of data across applications.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven experience with MS SQL Server.

  • Sound understanding of relational database principals, guidelines and design.

  • Extensive SQL query development experience.

  • Familiarity and experience with data visualisation tools.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of Tableau.

  • Experience with JIRA.

  • Experience with GitHub.
