Job Title: Quality Control Senior Manager

Location: Petersfield, Hampshire, UK

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, QC Lab to lead quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures regulatory adherence, optimizes laboratory operations, and advances quality strategies at both local and global levels. You will oversee laboratory activities, ensuring high standards in testing, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of QC Lab Testing



Lead daily QC lab operations, ensuring all raw materials, mass, and finished goods meet specifications.

Manage lab workflow, including sample analysis, retention, standards, raw material qualification, and outsourced testing.

*

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and implement continuous improvement strategies.

*

Provide QC expertise in plant hygiene, environmental monitoring, and risk assessments.

*

Collaborate with suppliers, R&D, and other departments to resolve test discrepancies and update procedures.

*

Oversee documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and corrective actions.

Testing Data Review & Release

*

Review and approve test data, including sample preparation records, chromatograms, calculations, and data sheets.

*

Enter test results into SAP/LIMS and oversee the release of materials and cosmetic products.

*

Manage microbiological testing for water systems and validation testing.

Equipment & Compliance Management

*

Lead the QC lab equipment program, including budgeting, purchases, installations, and maintenance.

*

Ensure all lab equipment meets qualification protocols and regulatory requirements.

*

Conduct internal audits, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions for compliance readiness.

Personnel & Training

*

Align QC Lab Managers’ objectives with company and quality goals.

*

Provide mentorship, training, and performance management for QC lab staff.

*

Develop and implement a structured training curriculum for laboratory personnel.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

*

Minimum of 8 years of managerial experience in microbiology, analytical chemistry, or QC laboratories.

*

Experience managing labs in a cGMP environment.

*

Proficiency in statistical data assessment, SAP, and electronic QMS.

*

Strong background in regulatory compliance and laboratory SOP development.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to develop and implement corrective actions.

Data Analysis: Expertise in evaluating trends and applying statistical methods.
