Proof of Concept Strategic Solution & Data Engineer
Why We Have This Role

The Proof of Concept (POC) Strategic Solution & Data Engineer is responsible for showcasing and demonstrating the business value of our platform to customers. The POC Engineer partners with the Heads of Solutions Engineering to execute use case-specific sales strategies and drive product innovation. They also assist in internal initiatives for sales enablement, cross-functional alignment, and strategy adoption among field Solution Engineers.

We seek creative thinkers and collaborative leaders who foster innovation within the team and across the company. The POC Engineer manages KPIs and metrics, working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Marketing, Professional Services, Engineering, and Cloud Operations to communicate market needs, enhance our value proposition, and ensure customer success.

This role involves building integrations for POCs, including conversational text data, using tools like AWS. As POCs are time-sensitive, the role can be fast-paced, requiring quick turnaround. The engineer will become a subject matter expert in these integrations to support sales teams with technical inquiries.

How You’ll Find Success

This position is for a POC Engineer on a global team. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and partnering with Solution Engineers and partners to achieve sales and company goals.
  • Refining and scaling sales engineering processes such as discovery, qualification, demos, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Providing presales technical support and solution strategies to prospective clients, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Delivering high-quality presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Articulating product features, benefits, and future directions.
  • Consulting with senior customer leaders.
  • Participating in sales planning and business development.
  • Comparing Qualtrics solutions to competitors.
  • Working with data and acquiring new technical skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Collaborating across teams and working independently.
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Innovate by pushing the platform’s capabilities and identifying new use cases.
  • Support global accounts with technical demonstrations and evaluations.
  • Drive adoption of Qualtrics solutions across departments.
  • Create knowledge base materials, including marketing collateral and training resources.
  • Understand and sell against competing products.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
  • Become an expert in Qualtrics XM Platform and related products.
  • Handle customer data securely and perform data transformations using Python and Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Build AWS tools to automate POC processes.

What We’re Looking For on Your CV

  • Self-starter with 6+ years of relevant experience in SaaS analysis or consulting.
  • Experience selling to C/VP level buyers.
  • Analysis experience across industries like Contact Center, Healthcare, Financial Services, etc.
  • Strong professional, sales, and technical skills supporting enterprise and inside sales.
  • Ability to explain technical SaaS aspects, including security and APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interactions.
  • Functional sales experience applicable across sales areas.
  • Flexibility to handle various system tasks.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn and teach.
  • 2-5 years in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or related roles.
  • 3-5 years scripting experience, especially with Python.
  • Comfort working with customers and technical teams.
  • Understanding of cloud, Linux, and data formats like JSON and XML.
  • Knowledge of ETL and SQL.
  • Excellent English skills; Spanish preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in Customer/Employee Experience software support.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related certifications.
  • Experience with AWS, Javascript, and UI development.
  • Knowledge of digital interaction technologies and tools like Prefect.
