Role: Product Data Analyst

Department: Integrated Technical Services (ITS)

Location: Chorley

Reporting to: Technical Data Design Specialist

Hours of work: Standard

Contract type: Permanent

Job Description:

Make sure that TVS ‘Best Practice’ data management principles are applied and adhered to - across all technical data management entries.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data entry into TVS Product Data Management application, including:

  • Change Management

  • Lifecycle Management

  • Data Governance

  • Understand our Product Data Management application and its interaction with other 'core' applications, its functionality and capabilities, the TVS business rules, and workflow processes behind those rules.

  • Create and maintain logical taxonomies for naming and arranging assets/items into groupings that share similar attributes and characteristics.

  • Producing a well-considered taxonomy, when published in our online catalogues. The thought process behind this makes sure our customers can identify (and order) the right part as quickly as possible, first time.

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Good communication skills

  • Must be numerate and have a good command of English

  • PC skills essential, proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to use a logical/common-sense approach to data structures.

    Not essential but would be advantageous if:

  • An understanding of hazardous goods and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) information,

  • Previous experience interpreting bills of material (BoMs),

  • Previous experience in data management.
