About the role:

LKAB Minerals UK Ltd are looking for an experience Performance Manager for our Head Office Site in Derby. Key aspects of the role are ensuring Safety First at the core of the strategy for Derby Site, promoting a culture of continuous improvement that is sustainable and measurable through the operational KPI’s.

The incumbent will help to identify and eliminate losses that are not directly associated with the Derby site but adversely affect their overall performance, as well as being an integral driver of the lean and continuous improvement aspirations of the business.

This role will work alongside the Derby Production Team , providing deputising site manager duties when required.

Full Time Responsibilities & Key work tasks:

Collaboration across the business to improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Supporting the Health and Safety Manager and Site Manager and Functional heads’ to deliver site improvements and support organisational priorities. Responsible for your key focus area including making recommendations for changes and process improvements – focusing on procedures, processes, tools or materials. Supporting the site with loss based projects as required, developing relevant data collection points to support CAPEX projects, inform planning, delivery of services including demand and capacity planning. Support with Quality Improvement culture onsite and work with the organisation to deliver best practice processes. Support and training of the basic problems solving tools in the continuous improvement tool set as needed Incremental improvements in OEE Deputise for site manager duties, when site manager is unavailable

Characteristics and skills requirements:

Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Demonstratable knowledge of mechanical maintenance and practical exposure to Lean Team player and collaborator Experience managing plant and people in the minerals processing or similar industries. Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safety or NEBOSH Certificate would also be advantageous
