Life. Smarter. Our commitment to a flexible and hybrid working cultureRole Overview:Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting operational support systems (OSS). This role supports operational processes, including network inventory, service provisioning, network configuration, and fault management, ensuring system efficiency and reliability.Key Accountabilities: * Install, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and modify new OSS equipment/solutions to achieve maximum performance and availability. * Provide technical knowledge to the development and deployment of OSS service infrastructure, driving improved technical and service performance. * Design and implement processes to enable smooth and seamless deployment of new OSS services. * Design, develop, and implement OSS systems and solutions for broadcast and satellite communications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. * Oversee the delivery of third-party suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with Arqiva’s delivery specifications and standards. * Standardize equipment to minimize disruption and ensure seamless integration with existing networks/infrastructure. * Document OSS engineering build procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes, and procedures. * Apply standard procedures to solve problems and identify appropriate resolutions. * Act as the Design Authority (DA) in areas of OSS expertise to deliver end-to-end customer solutions. For less complex projects, take on the role of Lead Design Authority (LDA). * Bring a commercial perspective to operations, focusing on cash management, cash preservation, and optimizing returns on investments made in assets and tools. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, network engineering, and field operations, to support the deployment and optimization of OSS technologies. * Stay updated with the latest advancements in OSS technologies and industry trends.Skills Required: * Operational Support: Proficient in operational support systems and network management. * Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues. * Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical information, and provide training or support. * Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail in identifying defects and ensuring accuracy. * Technical Knowledge: Understanding of servers, storage, and network technologies. * Data Engineering: Proficiency in designing and maintaining data pipelines, processing and storing large volumes of data, ETL processes, and database management.Knowledge & Experience: * Experienced in operational support systems or related areas. * Familiarity with network inventory, service provisioning, and fault management. * Basic knowledge of programming and scripting languages. * Understanding of agile methodologies is a plus.Qualifications:A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous.Why Join Arqiva?We are the undisputed leader in UK TV and radio broadcast, as well as the UK’s leading Smart Utilities platform.
