Job Description Why this role is importantto us As the Director of Risk & Control Operations, you willoversee the first line business’ risk and control function,ensuring understanding of regulatory requirements andorganisational goals. Your leadership will set the strategicdirection, manage the team, and coordinate important activitieswithin the 1LoD Risk team, ensuring risks are managed andcontrolled across the business. Work that matters - What you’ll do- Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement the risk managementplan for the UK&I 1LoD, ensuring understanding of regulatoryrequirements and organisational goals to leverage data analyticsand risk modelling tools. - Leadership: Manage the risk and controlteam, providing guidance to team members, driving ahigh-performance SME culture. - Reporting: Improve BUaccountability for risk, reporting on risks and controleffectiveness to senior management and risk committees. Ensureaccurate regulatory notifications (ICO & FCA). - StakeholderEngagement: Engage with partners, compliance, resilience,information security, and fraud teams to lead collaboration in riskmanagement and control deployment efforts. - Policy Development:Provide feedback on the impact of policy developments on thebusiness, ensuring costs for implementation are balanced with riskreduction/appetite. - Customer Outcomes: Support the exec inpromoting a culture where good customer outcomes sit at the heartof all business activities. Qualifications What you’ll need tobring to the role & Experian - Risk Management Expertise:In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and practices,with expertise in designing controls to mitigate identified risks.- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of applicable regulations,standards, and compliance requirements within the industry (FCA,ICO, GDPR, etc.). - Communication Skills: Reporting to seniormanagement, influence partners, and explain complex risk andcontrol concepts. More about you - Proven experience in drivingrisk management strategy and control frameworks. - In-depthknowledge of risk management principles and practices. - Expertisein managing risk incidents and implementing corrective actions. -Experience with applicable regulations and compliance requirements.- Able to set strategic direction and align team goals withorganisational objectives through effective communication andinfluencing.
