The position
By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:
Work in a Global trading book with one global PnL.
Work closely with all offices, as part of Equinor’s global crude oil trading team. Contribute to ongoing internal discussions with traders and the analytics team on key assumptions and methodologies. Be happy to get involved in both formal and informal professional networks, internal and external. Collect and work with large amounts of internal and external data. With the data, develop models and conduct analysis, which may be used as input for trading decisions such as: Oil demand forecasting. Global supply/demand balances. Linking supply/demand fundamentals to market pricing. Forecasting oil trade movements. Trade recommendations based on fundamental analysis.

3+ years’ experience working in a data science/analytical role. Strong technical skills in – coding, Python, databases, and Excel. Knowledge of econometric techniques. Knowledge of machine learning is preferred. Experience/knowledge of oil industry or markets are strongly preferred. Interest in and an understanding of macroeconomic environments. Strong commercial mindset.
