As MIS and Data Transformation Lead, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role at the heart of a forward-thinking MIS and Exams team, deputising for the Director of Information Services and shaping the future of data strategy across our dynamic and ambitious college.


You’ll lead on cutting-edge digital data transformation projects, drive automation and reporting excellence, and ensure gold-standard compliance with funding and audit requirements. With our commitment to developing future leaders, this role is ideal for someone ready to step into a senior leadership pipeline, offering meaningful exposure to strategic decision-making, college-wide innovation, and the chance to help define what outstanding data practice looks like in FE.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for senior leaders, governors, curriculum and support teams
  • Write and optimise complex SQL queries and automate data pipelines across key MIS systems (EBS, ProMonitor, ProAchieve)
  • Support audit readiness, funding submissions, SARs and inspections through high-quality, validated reporting
  • Deputise for the Director of Information Services—leading on strategic meetings and project delivery as required
  • Mentor reporting analysts and lead best practices in data governance, digital innovation and performance reporting
  • Collaborate cross-college with Curriculum, Quality, Exams, Admissions and IT to drive data-informed improvements

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in the FE sector managing complex datasets and MIS platforms
  • Advanced skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query and modelling best practices
  • Expert proficiency in SQL Server (including stored procedures, indexing, and automation)
  • Proven experience supporting audits, ILR returns, ESFA, GDPR and Ofsted requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
  • A leadership mindset, with a willingness to take on strategic responsibility and line management
