About the Role:
Are you a strategic leader with a passion for logistics and precision? We are seeking a highly experienced Material Management Manager to oversee end-to-end material operations for high-profile military vessel construction projects. You'll be responsible for ensuring seamless material acquisition, storage, and distribution, while guaranteeing compliance with rigorous industry and regulatory standards such as IACS, Class Society, and MIL-SPEC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement material management strategies to support critical production timelines.
  • Ensure complete traceability and documentation of materials, aligned with regulatory and project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee material receiving, warehousing, handling, and issuance, maintaining high safety and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Monitor and optimize stock levels using ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Lead audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Establish KPIs to drive performance, reduce waste, and improve material flow.
  • Safely manage sensitive and hazardous materials in line with environmental and legal regulations.

    Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coach a team of warehouse supervisors, inventory controllers, and material handlers.
  • Set clear performance objectives and oversee ongoing training and development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

    What You'll Bring:

    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
    Minimum 10 years of experience in material management, with 5+ years in a senior role within shipbuilding or heavy manufacturing.
    Demonstrated success in managing large-scale material operations for complex engineering projects.
    Proficiency in ERP and warehouse systems (SAP MM experience preferred).
    Advanced skills in logistics, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Preferred Qualifications:

    APICS/CSCP or CPIM certification
    Familiarity with MIL-SPEC standards and hazardous materials handling
