The Market Data department works collaboratively with all business units and IT to ensure Marex sources the right data, maintains controls and permissions around distribution and apportions costs. Also manages and maintains close relationships with exchanges and other suppliers.

The Market Data Analyst is responsible for understanding Marex, its business and its requirements for Market Data throughout the organisation. The role requires the sourcing and negotiation of products and services and always being conscious of the contractual compliance around market data. Providing reports and managing costs with a full understanding of all uses of Market Data. It is also important to manage relationships with Exchanges and Vendors and always being aware of their offerings and alternatives where relevant.


Responsibilities:


• Be proactive and work with various Marex business units to understand their requirements and use of market data.
• Apply your knowledge to help with Market Data products and services selection where necessary.
• Liaise, negotiate, and implement contracts with suppliers following Marex internal governance and procurement processes.
• Familiarise and document all license (redistribution, non-display & derived data) usage informing and applying wherever necessary.
• Help maintain the Market Data inventory by working with the Administration team for the inclusion of new contracts, cost allocations.
• Understand internal cost allocation methods and apply during the procurement process
• Understand usage of Market Data by Marex's clients, this involves the cataloguing of usage and compliance of market data, and understanding the implications around the declaration and billing processes.
• Carrying out Market Data audits. This includes collecting and analysing the usage data, understanding all application usage and liaising with the exchange / auditors.
• Identifying, managing and working to correct any exposure and risk due to the use of market data that is outside the scope of any current licensing. This could involve working with the business to use or consume the data differently, relicense, and / or escalation of the usage.
• Maintain industry knowledge of products and services, industry direction and trends and being part of industry forums and working groups.


Skills and Experience:




• Previous experience in the Banking / Brokerage / Buy-side / Sell-side sector.
• Market data sourcing, negotiation, contract management, & organizational skills.
• In depth knowledge of products & services from Bloomberg, LSEG / Refintiv, ION, ICE, CME to name a few.
• A solid understanding and knowledge of exchange policies around redistribution, non-display and derived data usage.
• Working with and managing exchange auditors in the running of any audits.
• Works well in a team and as an individual, is able to priorities and deliver on time.
• Is able to interface with and build a rapport with all levels of stakeholders in the organisation, from associates to C-level.
• Familiarity with inventory systems such as MDM.
