Managing Consultant – Data & AI Architecture

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + Package

Location: London, Manchester, or Glasgow (Hybrid Working)


A leading global consultancy is seeking a Managing Consultant – Data & AI Architecture to join its growing team of data architects and engineers. This is an opportunity to work with top-tier clients, designing and delivering cutting-edge cloud-based data platforms that drive transformation and innovation.


The Role:

The successful candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of modern data platforms using cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.


Key responsibilities include:

Data Platform Architecture & Design– Developing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions to support operational and analytical workloads.

Hybrid Cloud & Data Migration– Implementing cloud-based architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and migrating legacy data systems.

Developing Innovative Solutions– Leading proof-of-concept (PoC) and minimum viable product (MVP) initiatives for advanced analytics and AI solutions.

DevOps & Automation– Building and automating data pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

Data Platform Strategy– Defining data strategies, roadmaps, and best practices to support business objectives.


About You:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• At least 10 years’ experience in data technologies and consulting.

• Hands-on expertise in designing and managing cloud-based data platforms in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience in networking, security, and identity management within cloud environments.

• Strong knowledge of ETL, ELT, and modern data architecture patterns such as Data Mesh and Data Fabric.

• Experience with DevOps tools, cloud infrastructure automation, and hybrid or multi-cloud strategies.

• Previous experience in a consulting or professional services environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
