Status: Contract (Renewable) – INSIDE IR35
Reports to: Senior Logistics Planning Manager

Morson Talent are working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have a current requirement for Logistics Analysts (2 headcount) to join their Project team, based Bridgwater - Somerset. These are (renewable) CONTRACT positions – Inside IR35. All work is associated with the delivery of a major energy infrastructure Project currently under construction in Somerset.

Job Purpose / Overview

The Logistics team delivers overarching command and control as well as acting as a centre of excellence for the end-to-end logistics process at Site. They are the intelligent owners of the logistics process and strategy, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the construction project
This role will involve working within the Logistics Planning Team, which is the sub-division of the Logistics Function
Logistics Analysts will work within the Logistics Function and across parts of site construction projects, following the Logistics strategy uniformly across the project.
They will work with other members of the Logistics Planning, supporting the implementation of Logistics Planning specific processes and framework.
They role will be accountable for providing visibility of Logistics Planning performance through management of Logistics reporting dashboards.
They will support the Logistics Operations Capacity Lead and the Construction Logistics Capacity Lead with insights on planning performance.
Principal Accountabilities (not limited to):
Team:

Work closely with the Senior Logistics Planning Manager to support Logistics planning related activities
Support the coordination of data inputs from third-party logistics (3PL) systems and data gathering of partner managed reporting and KPIs as needed
Review information to support the identification of key risks to project delivery
Deliver clear and concise insights to support robust decision-making utilising commercial and technical information to influence decisions
Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes
Provide office services such as reprographics, scanning, filling, binding etc
Arrange meetings, co-ordinate the booking of meeting rooms, and take minutes
Core Processes:

Support the Senior Logistics Planning Manager with consolidation of data for Logistics Planning, and analytics for constraints identification and Logistics Planning KPI reporting
Support the Senior Logistics Planning Manager with securing data inputs for Logistics Planning, including following up with stakeholders
Support the Senior Logistics Planning Manager in the analysis and interpretation of data related to Logistics planning or other analytics needed (incl. in analysing trends within the Project and identify areas of risk and opportunities within Logistics)
Support the Senior Logistics Planning Manager in the preparation and presentation of reports and findings to internal stakeholders
Conduct impact analysis to assess effects of changes in Logistics Operations resulting from ongoing initiatives
Contribute to the relevant Logistics governance forums to highlight Logistics planning related risk and issues
Coordinate tasks, actions and information between stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and support continuous improvement
Follow the use of Project governance and Logistics standards and procedures
Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with business policies and procedures
Functional Management:

Support internal stakeholders with aggregating key performance data for tactical forums
Coordinate actions to ensure transparent flow of information across different forums
Compile logistics analysis to support the Senior Logistics Planning Manager to define key insights to inform recommendations for forums
Support business case development for Logistics initiatives and projects and escalates for budget approval
Support Logistics performance continuous improvement by implementing best practice and learning
Criteria
Knowledge & Skills

Ability to deliver accurate and concise project insights utilising commercial and technical information
Ability to communicate a range of issues and concepts, to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to effectively engage and collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes
Entry Level analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of relevant logistics function, including inventory management, supply chain planning, and transport management
Qualifications & Experience

Exposure of working in a high-paced & operational environment within a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear, aerospace, engineering, or energy)
Preferred experience in logistics and major project delivery
May be working towards a qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related fields

The jobholder will be expected to potentially to use the following (or similar equivalent) software tools:

Warehouse Management System WMS
Power BI (Business Intelligence Analytics)
Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Storage capacity and inventory system
