About Academy of the Digital Industries

ADIwas born out of a simple need: we couldn’t find enough professionals with the right digital skills, so we decided to train them ourselves.

What started in 2018 as a grassroots initiative in Tbilisi has evolved into a global Edtech platform with over 30,000 alumni.

Our programs are built by experts, designed around real world demands, and delivered in an environment of collaboration, curiosity, and growth.

In 2023, we partnered with Tether to take our mission global, expanding access to practical, career-boosting education for learners everywhere. Today, we’re building the next generation of digital professionals: marketers, designers, coders, and creators who don’t just want a job, they want to make an impact.

We’re guided by values we truly live by: putting people first, staying curious, doing excellent work, and taking ownership.

And we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

As a Data Science Mentor, you will primarily support learners in a no-code focused course, helping them understand and apply data analysis and visualization concepts using tools like spreadsheets and dashboards.

You’ll guide students through practical, real-world projects while building their confidence without requiring prior coding experience. There is also scope to expand into supporting code-based data science learning, such as Python, as our course offerings grow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a course syllabus in collaboration with the academic team.

  • Be passionate about mentoring, guiding, and sharing your knowledge through student interaction.

  • Lead both in-person, online and hybrid workshops, following a detailed syllabus that encourages active discussion and project-based learning.

  • Shape the course content based on your expertise, focusing on real-world applications that are cool and accessible to the general public.

  • Enrich the learning experience by building a strong community and drawing on your industry expertise to make the content relevant.

  • Support and encourage students as they undergo a transformative learning journey.

  • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve and grow.

  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  • Stay current with the latest development trends and best practices, integrating new technologies and methods into the syllabus.

  • Work closely with the academic team to ensure a seamless course experience.

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist.

  • Proficient in English.

  • Based in London and able to travel to Central London to deliver evening workshops.

  • Strong proficiency in data handling and analysis (both code & no-code tools).

  • Comfortable with framing questions from data.

  • Solid understanding of data visualisation and storytelling.

  • Ability to help students understand concepts and solve problems by providing support.

  • Passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Organisation and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
