You’ll take up this crucial role to monitor a range of field and sensor data which are used to decide how water leakage is reduced across our supply network. You’re inquisitive, logical and organised in your approach.
Every drop of the clean water we produce is precious. We’re targeted by the regulator (Ofwat) to reduce the amount of water lost through leakage. Improving water efficiency makes a positive difference to the environment.
You’ll work with Regional Managers and Heads of Departments to analyse, interpret, report, and coordinate our response and reporting of leakage across our network. You’ll use daily water consumption patterns; flow data and water production data to recognise patterns and target the right interventions by our field-based Leakage Technicians.
This role comes with lots of variety. You’ll monitor leakage performance, produce dashboards, raise, and monitor work orders based on your analyses in addition to contributing to data validation and auditing processes. What will you be accountable for?
Leakage reduction is a fundamental part of South East Water’s overall strategy, and the Leakage Analyst role provides the analytical information to drive this strategy in the regional team. You’ll analyse large sets of data to explain movements and spot trends. Receive, interpret, input, and update technical information to ensure integrity of recorded information and record databases. Evaluate and analyse operational information retrieved from our water supply network to resolve problems. Working closely with leakage team leaders and technicians to target leakage effort. Supporting the roll out of Smart Water Networks. Interpret data and alarms to reduce leakage and the impact of supply interruptions. Leakage performance and corporate reporting as required.
What do you bring to the role?
Proven experience in a similar data analyst / insight or performance analyst position. Water industry and leakage experience would be beneficial. Good Communication skills to work collaboratively with others. The ability to understand regulatory reporting requirements, data auditing and validation processes. The ability to pre-empt problems and use data to initiative a proactive response. Clean Driver’s licence as some travel may be required.
